Job Summary and Qualifications

Performs EKG monitoring duties on the nursing unit under the direct supervision of licensed caregivers.

What you will do in this role:

• Achieves professional goals set during previous evaluation period
• Monitoring Skills- able to interpret normal and abnormal rhythms, able to recognize artifact
• Monitoring Skills: demonstrates knowledge of lead functions and application
• Ensures accurate maintenance of EKG rhythm documentation on patients’ medical records according to department standards.
• Monitoring Skills- Sets alarm parameters every shift, upon return from off unit and as needed.
• Understands and follows chain of command
• Participates in educational programs and inservice meetings.
• Maintains the telemetry equipment
• Participates in hospital and unit Performance Improvement
• Documentation- maintains logs per policy
