HCA Healthcare, Inc. in Corpus Christi is seeking a Telemetry Monitor Technician to support patient care by interpreting dysrhythmias and vital signs, communicating changes to nurses, and maintaining accurate logs.

You will also manage supplies, participate in staff orientation, and follow infection control standards. The role requires completion of telemetry monitoring/arrhythmia coursework and annual arrhythmia interpretation testing, with BCLS certification being essential for daily

Responsibilities

• Interprets/recognizes dysrhythmias and vital signs (benign and life-threatening).
• Communicates arrhythmias, dysrhythmias, and changes in vitals to nursing staff.
• Documents and escalates notification process.
• Maintains department logs/records.
• Telephone etiquette and timely interdepartmental communication.
• Manages equipment and supplies; inventories and organization.
• Participates in orientation of new staff.
• Uses computer systems for order entry and supply management.
• Follows infection control precautions.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Performs the monitoring functions of the department. Fulfills departmental responsibilities that foster the goals of the hospital’s mission and vision statement. Provides a supportive environment that encourages teamwork and ensures effective communication.

• Interprets/recognizes dysrhythmias and vital signs (benign and life-threatening).
• Effectively communicates any arrhythmias, dysrhythmias, changes from established baseline, and/or changes in vital signs to the nursing staff.
• Effectively documents and escalates notification process.
• Maintains department logs/records
• Telephone etiquette – communicates interdepartmental and clinical information in a timely manner.
• Management, cleaning, inventory, and organization of departmental equipment and supplies.
• Participate in orientation of new staff.
• Effectively uses the computer system and programs in managing order entry and supplies.
• Effectively uses infection control precautions.
• Other duties as specified by department supervisor.

What qualifications you will need:

• Completion of telemetry monitoring/arrhythmia course
• Successfully passing an arrhythmia interpretation examination annually
• BCLS required
