Job summary

Corpus Christi Medical Center Bay Area part of HCA Healthcare, Inc. seeks a Medical Laboratory Technician to support data collection, performance improvement, and interdepartmental communication across laboratory and hospital teams.

The role requires a relevant degree, CLIA-eligible MT/MLS/MLT or MLT/CLT certification, and about 1 year of clinical lab experience. Candidates will work with computer systems and participate in a large healthcare network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or associate degree in chemical, physical, biological, or medical technology from an accredited program.
• One year of clinical lab experience or equivalent training is preferred.
• Certification by ASCP/AMT MT/MLT or eligibility to sit within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Assists in data collection for statistical surveys or other reports generated by the Department.
• Participates in performance improvement activities within the Department.
• Facilitates communication between the Laboratory and Medical Staff and other Hospital Departments.
• Notifies supervisor of unusual requests to ensure optimal resource use and quality care.
• Performs computer functions as necessary according to job duties.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Summary and Qualifications

• Assists in data collection for statistical surveys or other reports generated by the Department.

• Notifies supervisor of any unusual requests to ensure maximum utilization of resources
• and maintenance of quality care.
• Performs computer functions as necessary according to job duties.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES.

What qualifications you will need:

• Bachelor or Associate degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or medical technology/clinical laboratory science/medical laboratory scientist (MT/CLS/MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician/Clinical Laboratory Technician (MLT/CLT) from an accredited institution Qualified under CLIA guidelines for MMT/CLS/MLS or MLT/CLT
• 1 year clinical laboratory experience or equivalent clinical lab training
• ASCP or AMT MT/MLT or equivalent certification or be currently eligible to sit for MLT or equivalent certification exam preferred. Certification must be acquired within one year of hire.
