Job summary

Oneida Health Hospital is seeking a full-time Monitor Care Technician to join the ICU team for 7a–7p coverage. The role focuses on observing cardiac monitors, identifying rhythm disturbances, and reporting to the ICU Nursing Manager.

The ideal candidate will assist with basic patient care under the Charge Nurse and communicate effectively with the healthcare team. The position emphasizes careful data documentation, patient safety, and a customer-service approach to support patients and families

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (Preferred).
• Certifications: Ward Clerk, Nursing Assistant, Cardiac Monitoring (Required/willing to train).
• Experience: Ward Clerk 1 year (Preferred); Nursing Assistant 1 year (Preferred); Monitor Tech 1 year (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Being a careful observer and data gatherer, documenting information carefully and accurately.
• Performing basic patient care under the direction of the Charge Nurse.
• Maintaining clear communication and routing messages to the appropriate person.
• Maintaining a safe and healthy environment for patients according to hospital standards.
• Using a customer service attitude when assisting patients and families with needs.
• Performing ward clerk and clerical tasks as needed.
• Maintaining equipment and performing routine cleaning tasks.
• Assisting RN with patient educational needs.

Oneida Health Hospital is looking for a full-time Monitor Care Technician to work (7a-7p) in our ICU. This position is responsible for the observation of cardiac monitors and reports to the ICU Nursing Manager. The ideal candidate is able to recognize disturbances in cardiac rhythm and can act appropriately.
