Job summary

North-America-Central-School-Bus is seeking a Bus Aide to assist the driver in the safe operation of routes and to manage students as defined by the school.

Responsibilities include following route sheets or electronic routing devices, assisting with pre-trip/post-trip inspections, helping students board and exit, and cooperating with staff, parents, and students. Must have good verbal communication, be available for early shifts, and maintain a professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• Assist the driver in the safe operation of the route and manage students as defined/identified by the school.
• Learn and follow a route sheet or electronic routing device.
• Assist in pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus, including child checks, CSRS, and wheelchair lifts.
• Assist students in loading and unloading, including wheelchair lift.
• Cooperate and communicate with school personnel, parents, and students.
• Attend all safety and training meetings.
• Conduct emergency evacuation from the bus, including exiting from the emergency door.
• Clean the insides of the bus including sweeping, dusting, and cleaning windows.
• Other specialized functions as required by contract.

• Is responsible for student management and communicates behavior problems with the driver
• Assists in pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus, including child checks, CSRS, and wheelchair lifts
• Assists students in the loading and unloading process, including wheelchair lift
• Cooperates and communicates with school personnel, parents, and students.
• Attend all safety and training meetings.
• Conducts emergency evacuation from the bus, including exiting from the emergency door.

Minimum Education & Certifications Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
