Job summary

The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) is recruiting for A-Repairman-Carpenter/Mason in Baltimore, MD. The role involves renovating, repairing, and constructing wood, metal, or composite structures, reading blueprints, and adhering to building codes.

Duties include masonry work, tile laying, flooring, ceilings, drywall, and door or glass repairs. Shifts are Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm, with some potential for evenings, holidays, and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must have 5 years of experience in masonry and carpentry.
• Must be able to read blueprints and follow verbal/written instructions.
• Familiar with structural and building codes; masonry work includes brick, block, and concrete.

Responsibilities

• Perform renovations, corrective repairs, and construct wood, metal, or composite structures such as forms, buildings, sheds, and offices.
• Lay tile and carpeting floors, install ceilings, hang drywall, spackle/finish/paint, door repairs, and glass repairs.
• Read blueprints and comply with safety and building codes; work in facilities department as assigned.
