Job summary

Chenega Services and Federal Solutions, LLC. seeks a Molecular Virology Research Scientist to advance medical countermeasure discovery for viral threats, operating in BSL-2/3/4 and ABSL-2/3/4 settings. You will design studies, analyze data, and prepare reports and manuscripts.

The role requires deep knowledge of FDA-related research requirements, GLP/GMP/GCP, and experience with immunological assays. Travel to CONUS/OCONUS may be required.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Virology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biomedical Science, Infectious Disease, or related life sciences discipline.
• Experience or demonstrated research capability consistent with a Scientist 1 labor category.
• Knowledge of a relevant life sciences field.
• Experience conducting or supporting virology, infectious disease, biodefense, medical countermeasure, or related biomedical research.
• Experience supporting in vitro and/or in vivo research studies.
• Experience preparing or contributing to scientific reports, publications, presentations, or technical summaries.
• Experience performing immunological assays such as ELISA, Western Blot, flow cytometry, PRNT, and immunohistochemistry.
• Knowledge of FDA-related research requirements, including GLP, GMP, GCP, non-clinical research, clinical research, pivotal animal studies, or FDA Animal Rule-related activities.

Responsibilities

• Perform research aimed at the development of medical countermeasures to prevent and treat viral diseases of military importance.
• Assist in design and development of research projects; oversee execution with up to ten small animal studies and up to five nonhuman primate studies annually.
• Assist in writing animal protocols for IACUC submission and approval.
• Perform immunological assays (ELISA, Western Blot, flow cytometry, PRNT, IHC).
• Prepare labs for inspections and training to meet regulatory standards.
• Assist PI in pursuit of funding; prepare grants and proposals (min 3 per year).
• Prepare technical reports for funding agencies; deliver quarterly or as required.
• Publish manuscripts and present at scientific meetings (1–2 per year, travel possible).
• Develop or review SOPs for Virology Division.
