Greenwoodscchamber in Greenwood, SC is seeking a Molecular Technologist to perform standard molecular techniques on clinical diagnostic samples. You will follow SOPs, maintain quality control data, and assist in training other technologists or students as needed.

You will report to the Molecular Lab Supervisor and Molecular Director(s), and participate in equipment maintenance and quality assurance activities.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Experience level: mid to senior preferred.

The Molecular Technologist is responsible for using standard molecular techniques, which may include isolation of DNA, PCR, Sanger and/or Pyrosequencing, restriction enzyme digestion, fragment analysis, multiplex ligation-dependent probe amplification (MLPA), and Next Generation Sequencing to analyze clinical diagnostic samples that are submitted for laboratory analysis. The technologist follows standard operating procedures for sample handling, sample processing, test analyses, and recording of test results. The technologist maintains quality control data and adheres to the quality control policies of the laboratory. When appropriate, the technologist may be responsible for training of other technologists/fellows/students, and participate in the maintenance of laboratory equipment and other duties as assigned. The Molecular Technologist will report to the Molecular Lab Supervisor and Molecular Director(s).

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in science or related field.
