Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Medical Technologist to join the Lab NB Molecular team. This hourly role involves performing and supervising laboratory tests, operating complex instrumentation, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with CLIA, CAP, and related standards.

You will collaborate with physicians and nurses, review results, and communicate critical values promptly. A Bachelor's in science and ASCP preferred, with 1 year hospital lab experience encouraged, and real growth opportunities

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical science or medical technology.
• 1 year hospital laboratory experience preferred.
• ASCP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, complex, and specialized laboratory testing in hematology, chemistry, microbiology, immunology, blood bank, coagulation, and urinalysis.
• Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instruments to ensure optimal performance.
• Analyze, verify, and report test results in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Follow safety protocols, QA/QC, and regulatory requirements (CLIA, CAP).
• Review specimen integrity and communicate critical values to the care team.
