Job summary

Labcorp in Burlington, NC is seeking a Technologist Trainee to join the Molecular Micro team. The role supports testing, instrument troubleshooting and safe, accurate reporting of patient results. New grads are welcome and full training is provided.

Work schedule Tue-Sat, 3:00pm-11:30pm, with potential overtime. A Bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science is required, and ASCP/AMT certification is preferred for advancement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science, clinical laboratory science or medical technology.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.
• 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience.
• Ability to pass color blindness test and work overtime as needed.
• Understanding of laboratory operations and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to criteria.
• Operate, troubleshoot and monitor instrumentation to ensure proper function.
• Report accurate test results to support patient care.
• Perform preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Assist with processing of specimens and maintain safe work environment.
