The University of Nebraska Medical Center seeks a Molecular Laboratory Technologist to join its College of Medicine. Position Summary
Molecular Laboratory Technologist to implement Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment ( CLIA ) compliant standard operating procedures, tests and methods in the Nebraska Public Health Laboratory ( NPHL ). Performs testing and analysis of clinical specimens, utilizing diagnostic methods, e.g. PCR and WGS in molecular microbiology. Responsible for the proper operation of equipment and resources in relationship to testing platforms utilized and for the collection, analysis, review and reporting of findings.

Biology, Microbiology, Virology, Molecular Biology, or other laboratory related science field.
(Will accept a Bachelor’s of General Studies and a minimum of three years molecular biology experience in a research or clinical laboratory setting)

3. Knowledge of whole genome sequencing and current clinical microbiologic practices.
4. Experience in molecular biology relating to PCR and/or WGS .
