Job summary

Howard University’s Talent Acquisition department seeks a researcher to manage the Molecular Imaging Laboratory’s imaging research focused on traumatic brain injury and neurological disease models. You will plan, conduct, and report studies spanning preclinical to translational research.

The role includes supervising interns or research assistants, applying advanced imaging techniques, and developing econometric models to monitor quality of life in TBI patients.

Qualifications

  • MS degree in computer science, data science or related disciplines and 1 year of direct experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and stellar communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct original imaging research, including planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Utilize advanced imaging technology with statistical and computational techniques to improve the accuracy and efficiency of TBI diagnosis.
  • Conduct research addressing healthcare needs of minority populations to enhance quality of life and healthcare interventions.
  • Assist in lab management and contribute to new business development in the lab.
  • Critically review and present published research articles.
  • Prepare progress reports, presentations, and attend project meetings as required.
  • Edit abstracts and papers intended for publication.
  • Design econometric models and algorithms for diagnosis and longitudinal monitoring of TBI patients.
