About the Role
As a mold technician, you will support the manufacturing operations by safely setting up and processing injection molding machines. Must be able to hang, set, and start up tooling injection machines from beginning to end without assistance. This includes material handling, correct watering, loading correct processes and adjusting as needed, as well as hookup and set up of hot runner systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Understand the use function of molding auxiliary equipment (grinder, dyer, blender, etc.)
- Read and understand parts, prints, and drawings
- Able to use measuring device, (e.g. calipers, height gauge, etc.)
- Safe use of overhead cranes
- Perform general maintenance on injection machines and tooling.
- Assist the quality department in solving root cause analysis.
- Operate a sit-down forklift
- Complete process changeover check‑sheets
- Follow safety protocols regarding lockout‑tagout, hazardous materials, and all other safety programs.
- Supervise / oversee shift production operators.
- Other duties as assigned.
Critical Competencies
- Ability to work safely around heavy equipment.
- Ability to read/write English and comprehend detailed instructions.
- Must be a team player and have good problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to solve problems with few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to process various resins, primarily poly vinyl chloride.
Education and Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 7–10 or more years of experience
Physical Requirements
- Walking / Standing 100% of time worked
- Able to climb stairs, stoop
- Must be able to lift 25–50 lbs.
- Must have dexterity to use hand and automatic tools.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
