Qualifications

  • Experience with injection molding equipment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Perform machine/mold safety checks and mold changeovers.
  • Execute cycle checks and prioritize workload per business needs.
  • Make process adjustments to reduce non-conforming parts.
  • Set up gages and perform QC checks; carry out basic mold cleaning and preventive maintenance.
  • Utilize MVP in relation to PM tasks and maintain 5S in work areas.
  • Assist in training new Technicians and Operators as required.
  • Handle material changeovers, including filling barrels and ensuring traceability.
  • Load programs and adjust settings on Shibaura Injectvisor controller.
  • Perform other duties as assigned; ensure compliance with laws and company procedures.

The Molding Technician is responsible for basic and advanced equipment and process set-up, changeovers, troubleshooting, equipment maintenance and basic repair and rebuild. Equipment includes Injection Molding Machines and associated ancillary equipment.

  • Perform machine/mold safety checks; perform mold changeovers.
  • Perform cycle checks, adjust business plan and prioritize workload according to business needs.
  • Make accurate process adjustments to alleviate non-conforming parts.
  • Perform mold start-up/QC Inspection; set up gages to perform QC checks.
  • Carry out basic cleaning of molds; complete preventive maintenance.

Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma, or GED required. Technical school background desirable.
  • Up to 3 years of manufacturing experience. Previous experience with plastic injection molding equipment desirable.
Work Environment
  • Work involves use of manufacturing equipment or close proximity to equipment. May be exposed to biohazards and/or chemicals.
  • Work environment can range from clean room and proper gowning requirements to a production area that is open, potentially noisy, and with moving equipment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. and push/pull up to 80 lbs.
  • Recurring physical demands include standing, walking, stooping, crouching, climbing, bilateral motion involving hands, wrists, and upper body.
  • Concentrated visual attention to perform checks on products and components.
