Job summary

Pentair is seeking a Molding Process Technician on 1st shift in Delavan, WI to develop and optimize injection molding processes, support new product rollouts, and assist with tool and vendor repairs. You will work with the IM team to validate processes, create SOPs, and drive safety and quality improvements.

The role requires strong molding experience and problem-solving skills. The position supports day-to-day operations, with 1st shift hours from 6:00am to 2:00pm, and occasional overtime;

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in an injection molding environment.
• Experience with mold, robot and machine setup and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of molding process development and flow manufacturing/lean principles.
• Proficiency with part inspection equipment (calipers, dial indicators, go-no go gaging).
• Ability to document procedures and support equipment standards for safe, maintainable operation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize molding processes for new or existing products daily.
• Assist in creating SOPs and validate molds through PPAP/Orange Packet processes.
• Troubleshoot day-to-day issues; guide operators and setup technicians.
• Support quality/production with root cause analysis and improvement projects.

You will develop new, and optimize existing, manufacturing processes within the Injection molding department. You will be involved with new product roll outs and ongoing support ongoing support of those products. This role will also assist in coordinating tool and vendor related equipment repair when required.You will:Develop and improve molding processes for new or existing products by supporting production on a daily basis.Assist the IM Manufacturing Engineer with creation of standard operating procedures for new or existing products.Execute all new mold validations through our molding PPAP and Orange Packet process and assisting in the creation of the proper documentation to support ongoing production with IM Manufacturing Engineer and IM team leadershipAssist department technicians with troubleshooting of day to day issues when required.Support IM Manufacturing Engineer and IM VSM by identifying improvement projects to increase Safety and Quality for not only our customers, but our associates.Validate processes for part quality and cycle times in order to reduce scrap and improve productivity.Support the IM Manufacturing Engineer and Quality Engineers by helping respond to internal or external part or process non-conformities by assisting in troubleshooting and root cause analysis tasks.Provide guidance to operators, set up technicians and shift leads pertaining to part quality, process updates or machine/tooling concerns .Adhere to the Pentair Quality Management System and focus on continuous improvements based on current set ups as well as maintenance opportunities.Identify Personal training opportunities, external and internal, to help facilitate departmental efficiency and personal growth.Key Qualifications:Have 5+ years of experience working in a technical role in an Injection Molding environment.Experience with mold, robot and machine set up and/or trouble shooting.Strong knowledge on molding process development.A basic understanding of Continuous Flow Manufacturing and lean principles.Working knowledge of part inspection equipment such as calipers, dial indicators, go-no go gaging, and associated equipment.Capable of writing technical documentation to ensure process capability, such as set-up and calibration procedures, and support the development and implementation of equipment standards to insure ease of operation, safety, and maintainability.Shift/Hours:1st shift: 6:00am – 2:00pm Monday - FridayOccasional mandatory overtime requiredCompensation:The hourly pay for this role is: $38.00/hr. Opportunity for a rate increase after you are proficient in certain skills and have fulfilled training.
