Job summary

Pentair in Delavan, WI is seeking a Molding Set Up Technician for the 1st shift to set up, process, and operate injection molding equipment while maintaining quality and documentation.

You will inspect parts, adjust tooling, load EOAT, troubleshoot robotic systems, and ensure adherence to blueprints and standards to support production efficiency.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in an Injection Molding environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Injection molding certifications are preferred.

Molding Set Up Technician 1st shift

We have an opportunity for a Molding Set Up Technician to join our Delavan, WI team. You will set up, process and assist in operating injection molding equipment, help inspect injection molding features to maintain quality, make any machine adjustments necessary, and change tooling as needed.

You will:
  • Responsible for adjusting, operating, and monitoring machine performance, meeting cycle time rates, ensuring conformance to specifications, and maintaining documentation logs.
  • Checking production processes against standard documentation, which will include all support equipment such as dryers, welders, drilling/cutting tools, grinders, etc.
  • Follow machine start-up/shut down procedures as specified which may include the following: open/close hopper throat valve, turn on/off heating and cooling systems, extend/retract carriage, purge machine and ensure machines, secondary/support equipment and areas around them are clean and free of all debris (resin pellets, molded parts, water, oil, etc.) after each setup is completed.
  • Performing set-ups/troubleshooting for injection molding. This will include but is not limited to: purging material, removal and installation of molds, setting controls to regulate press operation which includes entering commands to retrieve or input computerized machine controls for injection molding presses as well as verifying settings match documented processes. This also includes installation of auxiliary equipment such as but not limited to chillers, heaters, and any secondary operation equipment such as, but not limited to, sonic welders, drills, grinders and hand load removal tools.
  • Loading programs or installing/repairing End of Arm Tools (EOAT) as well as troubleshooting robotic/automation systems.
  • Troubleshooting cause of operating errors and determining appropriate resolution.
  • Visually inspect parts and assist quality technicians with part inspection in accordance with established quality plans as needed. Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and quality documentation per Pentair policy/procedure.
  • Must be able to accurately use measurement tools to include the following but not limited to; micrometers, verniers, height gage, bore gage, and attribute style gages.
  • Communicates effectively with engineering, supervision, and manufacturing personnel in order to exchange technical information.
  • Responsible for performing direct manufacturing operations as needs arise along with other duties as assigned.
Key Qualifications:
  • Have 3-5 years of experience working in a technical role in an Injection Molding environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Any injection molding certifications are preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Walk, bend, and perform basic motor skills.
  • Be able to lift up to 40 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Follow ergonomically correct postures for bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
Shift/Hours:
  • 6:00am - 2:00pm Monday - Friday
  • OT requirements
Compensation:

The hourly pay for this role is: $28.00-$30.00 per hour DOE. Opportunity for a rate increase after you are proficient in certain skills and have fulfilled training. Actual pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, and experience.
