Saint-Gobain is seeking a Molding Operator for the 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 2:00pm to 10:30pm) in Clearwater, FL. The role involves setting up molds, loading materials, operating injection molding machines, inspecting parts, and maintaining productivity while ensuring quality in a clean room environment.

Qualifications

• Efficient and willing to perform required work with good attendance and attitude.
• Understand SOPs relating to the department activities.
• Good analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.
• Must be a team player.
• Effective communication skills essential - both written and verbal.
• Operational knowledge of injection molding machines is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up molds and machines to manufacture parts according to specifications using approved set up sheets.
• Weigh materials and load blended materials in hopper on molding machines as needed.
• Operate Process Injection molding machines to produce parts according to customer specs and ensuring quality.
• Inspect parts for defects and troubleshoot; escalate when help is needed.
• Measure parts with calipers, rulers and other measuring devices.
• Meet productivity standards; escalate issues that affect productivity.
• Purge machines during the changeover process to prepare for the next cycle.

Molding Operator - 2nd Shift, Mon-Fri, 2:00pm to 10:30pm, $19.49/hour plus $2.00/hour shift differential = 21.49/hour

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Set Up molds and machines to manufacture parts according to specifications using approved set up sheets to cycle machines
Weigh materials and other specified ingredients per specifications/instructions and Load blended materials in hopper on molding machines as needed
Operate Process Injection molding machines to produce specified product according to customer specifications and ensuring Quality of the parts.
Inspect Parts for defects and make necessary corrections to troubleshoot them out of the process. Escalate when help is needed
Measure Parts according to print guidelines using calipers, rulers, and other measuring devices.
Meet Productivity standards on a consistent basis. Escalate issues to management that will affect productivity.
Purge machines during the changeover process to ensure the machine is ready for the next cycle.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Operational knowledge of injection molding machines is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Requires walking, primarily on a level surface throughout the day. May need to climb stairs/steps periodically. May need to stoop or kneel and reach above shoulder heights, below the waist. Lifting as required with proper lifting techniques up to 50 pounds on occasion.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is in a clean room environment where the use of personal protective equipment such as hearing protection, safety glasses, and safety shoes are mandated. Noise levels and temperatures may vary due to areas accessed. There is some exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals such as alcohol.
