Job summary

Amcor LLC is seeking a supervising team lead in Cumberland, MD, to oversee manufacturing teams and ensure safety, quality, and production standards are met daily. The role will report to the supervisor and support continuous improvement initiatives across production lines.

The ideal candidate has leadership experience in manufacturing and molding, with a strong safety mindset and the ability to train staff and coordinate cross-functional activities.

  • Experience with molding processes in manufacturing settings.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the activities of all team employees under supervisor direction.
  • Ensure safety by inspecting work areas and addressing hazards immediately.
  • Lead training on safety topics identified by management.
  • Organize and lead employee-driven teams to address safety, quality, or other issues.
  • Provide input for performance appraisals and help resolve problems.
  • Maintain documentation and assist with promotions and interviews.

Job Description Responsibilities
  • Under the direction of the supervisor, oversees the activities of all team employees
  • Ensures the safety of all team employees by checking their work areas for safety/housekeeping hazards and addressing issues immediately.
  • Reports any infractions to their supervisor
  • Performs duties in a safe manner; acts as a role model for safety
  • Assists supervisor in conducting preliminary investigations on safety incidents
  • Reviews and documents daily safety topic discussion for meetings
  • Conducts required training on selected safety topics as identified and assigned by the safety manager or immediate supervisor
  • Supports team goals and objectives.
  • Assists supervisor with dissemination information and updates to employees
  • Organizes and leads employee driven teams to address safety, quality, or other operational issues as assigned by the supervisor
  • Provides input for performance appraisals; addresses complaints and helps to resolve problems.
  • Assists with the retention of appropriate documentation.
  • Provides input on employee readiness for promotion, participates in interviews and recommends training as needed.
  • Maintains open communication with all team employees.
  • Identifies and coordinates additional training as needed
  • Attends meetings and provides information to Supervisor in his/her absence
  • Conducts meetings with employees to provide information on production, quality, safety, and policy issues
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor

The starting rate of pay for this position is expected to be $21.00 per hour; however, starting pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience between $21.00 per hour and $24.00 per hour.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Previous leadership experience in manufacturing setting
  • Previous Molding experience in manufacturing setting
