Job summary

Safariland in Jacksonville, FL seeks a Material Handler to prepare and provide materials for molding machines. You will move, blend, and manage resin and raw materials, maintain environmental controls, process regrinds, and support efficient production workflows.

The role requires good math, mechanical aptitude, and accuracy, with the ability to work in a team or independently. A high school diploma or GED is required; three months to one year of related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Locate materials and supplies for BOM and staging areas.
  • Calculate, measure and blend materials as required.
  • Maintain in-process inventory by delivering or restocking materials.
  • Keep machines and workstations free of loose material.
  • Ensure all raw materials are returned to designated area after each job.
  • Follow safety policies and maintain good housekeeping.
  • Communicate material shortages or issues to management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary Of Job

The Material Handler is responsible for preparation and provision of correct material to molding machines. The position covers all aspects of resin and raw material handling including moving/mixing raw materials, maintaining material environmental controls, processing regrinds, and all associated duties.

Essential Job Functions


  • Locates materials and supplies by identifying, labeling, and placing materials in the staging area or at the machine per the Bill of Material (BOM)

  • Calculate, measure and blend material as required

  • Maintains in-process inventory at workstations by delivering or restocking materials and supplies

  • Keep machines and workstation free of loose material

  • Ensure all raw materials are taken to designated return area at the completion of each job

  • Maintain positive employee relations and adhere to Company policies, procedures, safety standards and good housekeeping practices

  • Communicate material shortages or issues to management

  • Other duties as assigned


Required Experience

Three (3) months to one (1) year related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Required Education

High School Diploma or general education degree (GED). No college degree is required for this position but would be helpful in the advancement opportunity.
