Job summary

Safariland's holsters division is seeking an experienced Holster Molding Operator to join our Jacksonville team. You will perform repetitive machine operations to mass-produce holster components, ensuring quality and safety under standard procedures.

Work involves line duties, daily maintenance, and contributing to kaizen improvements, with a focus on meeting ship dates and maintaining inventory accuracy. High attention to safety and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos.
  • Ability to use hand tools and shop equipment.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and be dexterous.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assigned machine operations within established time standards.
  • Follow standardized procedures and daily maintenance.
  • Assist in developing standardized work instructions.
  • Ensure quality defects are not passed to subsequent processes.
  • Work at different stations as production needs require.
  • Notify supervisor of non-conforming product and unsafe practices.
  • Support kaizen activities to improve productivity and quality.

Our holsters division is a premier designer and innovator of safety holsters and other duty gear, as well as a manufacturer of components and finished products for holsters and firearm accessories. We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Holster Molding Operator to join our team. A holster molding operator performs repetitive operations to mass-produce products. Safariland molding associates work efficiently and safely, while maintaining target range on the following KPI’s: discrepancies, accidents, desired ship dates, and inventory cycle counts.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Holster Molding Operator to join our team. A holster molding operator performs repetitive operations to mass-produce products. Safariland molding associates work efficiently and safely, while maintaining target range on the following KPI’s: discrepancies, accidents, desired ship dates, and inventory cycle counts.

Responsibilities
  • Perform assigned machine operations within established time standards
  • Perform assigned machine operations according to standardized procedures
  • Perform required daily machine maintenance and annotate appropriate forms
  • Assist in developing standardized work instructions
  • Ensure quality defects are not passed on to following processes
  • Work at different work stations as production needs require
  • Work on line where tasks vary as different model of same article moves along line
  • Verify work order to assembled parts and/or finished product
  • Observe all safety regulations and procedures of the facility
  • Help in keeping production area clean and organized
  • Participate in kaizen activities to achieve productivity and quality improvements
  • Train associates as required
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Notify supervisor of non-conforming product.
  • Notify supervisor of unsafe equipment or work practices
Qualifications
  • Three (3) months to one (1) year related experience and or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • No college degree is required for this position but would be helpful in the advancement opportunity
  • General knowledge in the use of hand tools and shop operations
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Must work well with others and have the ability to be a team member
  • Ability to accept direction from a peer
  • Lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Utilize hand and finger dexterity.
