Job summary

nVent in Houston is seeking a production operator to support our manufacturing operations. You will load raw materials, monitor press operations, ensure lubrication, temperature and cycle times meet specs, and keep a clean, safe work area.

The role requires standing for long periods, manual dexterity, lifting up to 50 pounds, and wearing appropriate PPE. Overtime may be required; reliability and attention to safety are essential.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience preferred.
  • Manual dexterity for unloading/reloading parts.
  • Stand for 8 hours minimum.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to work with high temperature equipment and loud environments with PPE.

Responsibilities

  • Load raw material into the press and ensure even material distribution.
  • Oversee safety, quality, production and material handling in operations.
  • Monitor press operation to meet lubrication, temperature and cycle specs.
  • Keep the work area clean and dispose of waste properly.
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness and monitor for contaminants.
  • Record accurate production and quality data.
  • Remove trim and inspect molded parts for defects.
  • Overtime may be required as needed by supervision.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
  • Load raw material into press in a prescribed manner paying attention to distribution of material for an even flow until mold cavities are filled.
  • Responsible for the processes in the Operations chain, including safety, quality, production and material handling.
  • Monitor press operation to make certain lubrication, temperature, tonnage and cycle times meet operating specifications for each product.
  • Maintain a clean organized work area disposing of waste and trash to assigned areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work area paying attention to oil, cured scrap, water and other foreign matter that could contaminate product before or after curing.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records.
  • Remove trim and inspect molded parts for defects.
  • Must be available to work overtime when required.
  • Other duties as required by supervisor.
YOU HAVE:
  • High School diploma or equivalent, preferred 5+ years if experience.
  • Manual dexterity commensurate to quickly unload and reload the parts from press.
  • Stand for at least 8 hours at a time.
  • Lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Eyesight commensurate to visually inspect parts.
  • Ability to work with high temperature (120F) equipment and high machinery noise level using proper PPE.
