Job summary

G&W Electric is seeking a Molder to shape molds using automatic molding machines, air-set sand mixers, and other equipment. You will position patterns in flasks, fill sand, ram and vent molds, and assemble cope and drag sections for production lines.

The role requires a high school diploma, reading English, and basic math and communication skills; prior foundry/manufacturing experience is preferred. Pay ranges apply and benefits are offered.

Job description

In this job you will be responsible for shaping molds or mold sections using such machines as: automatic molding machine, air-set sand mixer, rota-lift and jolt-squeeze molding machines..

As a Molder you will:

• Select and assemble appropriate flask equipment and patterns.
• Position patterns in flasks, fills flasks with sand, ramming the sand around the pattern with tools, hands and use of molding machines.
• Prepare molds for drawing of patterns and repairing damage to mold impressions in sand as may be necessary.
• Select and sets in position appropriate cores and/or chills. Vents molds as necessary.
• Assemble cope and drag sections of mold and places mold on pouring conveyor
• Report production quantities and times for each work order.
• Report worn pattern equipment to supervisors

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a High School diploma, GED or combination of work experience and skill development
• Ideally has experience in a foundry or manufacturing
• Math, computer, and communication skills are necessary
• Is able to read instructions and understand verbal instructions in English

The physical demands of the job are:

• Work is classified as Heavy Physical Demand Level (PDL) by the US Dept of Labor's Dictionary of Occupational Titles
• Frequencies - Occasional (1-33%); Frequent (34-66%); Continuous (67-100%)
• Lifting Demands:
  • Lift 100 lbs. on an occasional basis floor to waist.
  • Lift 75 lbs. on an occasional basis floor to chest.
  • Lift 50 lbs. on an occasional basis floor to shoulder.
  • Carry 75 lbs. on an occasional basis up to 25 feet.

Pay Range is typically between $20 - $24 per hour
