Job summary

Vaupell Industrial in Lindenhurst, NY is seeking a Molder for full-time production work. You will operate molding equipment to produce quality parts and follow cleanroom procedures.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Mold parts on machines to specifications.
• Maintain cleanroom protocols, including gowning, gloving, and contamination control procedures.
• Inspect parts for defects, dimensions and quality and report issues.
• Record production data, batch numbers, material usage and yields.
• Perform precise lay-up and material prep using hand tools.
• Read rulers and calipers to verify measurements.
• Keep workspace clean and organized.
• Complete production paperwork per quality standards.
• Monitor, record and report scrap.
• Follow Vaupell policies, SOPs and safety practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Purpose

Responsible for molding parts on machines and related equipment in production of quality products.

Essential Duties and responsibilities

• Perform molding operations using various techniques to produce parts or products according to specifications.
• Maintain a clean and controlled environment by following strict cleanroom protocols, including gowning, gloving, and adhering to contamination control procedures.
• During molding operation inspect parts for defects, dimensions, and quality, and report any issues to quality control or supervisory personnel.
• Record production data, including batch numbers, material usage, and production yields, and maintain accurate records of molding operations.
• Employee is required to perform precise lay-up and tailor materials (example prep regs) in accordance with work instructions using sharp tools like knives and scissors.
• Employees are required to know how to use and how to read simple tools/measuring devices like rulers and calipers.
• Ensure proper housekeeping by clearing and cleaning workspace.
• Complete all paperwork pertaining to production neatly and correctly following all quality standards.
• Monitor, record and report all scrap.
• Responsible for following all Vaupell policies, standard operating procedures and safety practices.
• Other duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and vibrations. Physical Requirements

This position requires the employee to stand for 60% or more of the work shift and to walk, bend at the waist, reach above and below shoulder level, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, push up to 50 pounds, and turn or twist for 20% to 60% of the work time. The role also requires continuous or frequent use of hands and visual skills, including grasping, handling, finger dexterity, feeling, eye-hand coordination, near and far vision acuity, depth perception, color perception, keyboarding, and pulling. The employee may occasionally sit, carry 25 to 50 pounds, climb ladders, balance, kneel, crawl, and use ordinary hearing. Lifting, carrying, or pushing over 50 pounds and climbing stairs are not essential physical requirements of this position.
