Job summary
ALPLA in Kansas City is seeking a Mold Shop Technician to manage mold shop operations, including cleaning, inspection, maintenance, repairs and inventory control of all mold-related spare parts.
You will work with Milling Machines, Lathes and Surface Grinders to ensure tooling readiness and production readiness, while coordinating with planners and vendors. A technical background and strong reading of drawings are essential.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three or more years related experience.
- Completion of Technical College or equivalent Apprenticeship Program preferred.
Responsibilities
- Mold maintenance: cleaning, inspection, preventative maintenance, repair and documentation.
- Modifications and maintenance of tooling; report changes to Supervisor & Technical Center.
- Maintain mold-related drawings and spare parts inventory; order parts as needed.
- Coordinate with Production Planners to align mold activities with production goals.
- Liaise with external mold vendors and serve as main contact for technical department.
- Maintain communication with NOAM Mold Specialists on mold-related matters.
- Meet timelines to minimize production downtime; uphold safety and quality standards.
