Job Juncture in Massachusetts is seeking an experienced Mold Tooling Engineering Manager to lead the engineering team in the design and production of medical cable assemblies and connector products. This role focuses on injection-molded components and extends from new product development to ongoing engineering support.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in mold design, tooling, or toolmaking.
• Associate’s degree or higher in engineering, manufacturing, or a related technical field; equivalent hands-on experience is also considered.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D CAD software and ability to conduct DFM/tooling feasibility reviews.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage an internal tool shop, coordinating with toolmakers and mold design engineers.
• Conduct Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews to ensure optimal product designs.
• Design and evaluate injection molds for medical connector components and cable assemblies.
• Develop and support tooling concepts, including gating, venting, cooling, and surface finishes.
• Collaborate with product engineering to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-efficient.
• Work closely with external mold shops, both domestic and offshore, throughout the tool design and qualification process.
• Assist in resolving tooling-related issues and facilitate design updates as needed.

• Background as a journeyman toolmaker or significant shop floor experience.
• Familiarity with medical validation processes including IQ/OQ/PQ.
