Job summary

Summit Polymers is seeking a Mold Technician to safely set up, start, run, and shut down molding equipment while following standard work and Lean practices. The role requires basic troubleshooting and collaboration across shifts to ensure product quality and process integrity.

Ideal candidates will complete the Level 1-3 Mold Tech training milestones, monitor equipment health, and maintain housekeeping and safety standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Must complete all post-hire training modules within the specified timeframe.
• Minimum score in the 50th percentile on the DAT Mechanical Reasoning Test.
• Minimum score of 50 on the Wonderlic Select test.
• Must meet physical requirements, including standing and lifting up to 60 pounds.
• Able to wear steel-toed footwear.
• Must be able to meet crane license requirements.
• Must be able to exert up to 150 ft-lbs torque as needed.
• Must be able to work around magnetic fields.

Responsibilities

• Safely performing injection mold changes and machine start-ups in proper sequence within time standards.
• Complying with SPI PPE requirements (hard hats, gloves, eye protection, etc.).
• Performing lockout/tagout and safely operating equipment.
• Troubleshooting basic machine and equipment problems.
• Troubleshooting basic robot problems.
• Performing machine adjustments to meet specs and maintain tooling.
• Complete daily production paperwork and logs.
• Support Summit Lean Manufacturing Systems for inventory and scheduling.
• Assist with Operator/Utility breaks as needed.
• Assist in grinding runners and scrap parts when required.
