Illinois Tool Works Inc. is seeking an experienced Injection Molding Technician to set up molding machines, calibrate molds, and maintain a clean production area for quality parts.

You will troubleshoot process issues, adjust automation equipment, and collaborate with setup technicians to ensure efficient operations. This role requires a high school diploma or GED, 2 years of plastic injection molding experience, and the ability to work overtime and weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience required.
• Minimum 2 years relevant manufacturing experience in plastic injection molding environment preferred.
• Minimum 2 years related basic problem solving and processing skills in relation to injection molding and automation equipment.
• Exposure to scientific injection molding process monitoring methodology preferred.
• Understanding of injection molding machine(s) and auxiliary equipment operations and repair preferred.
• Understanding of robotics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and/or electric systems for both relay and solid-state machinery preferred.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication both written and verbal skills.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule which includes overtime and weekends.
• Must have ability to provide their own basic tools ( allen wrenches, socket sets, etc.).

Responsabilités

• Sets up injection molding machines in anticipation of the molding process, ensuring correct parameters are set for the specific part being molded.
• Setting molds, dies, etc., to conform to scheduled requirements, to include leaving the workstation clean and organized, with quality parts coming from the process, while minimizing downtime.
• Performs mold cleaning and routine maintenance on production machinery.
• Troubleshoot and solve minor molding process conditions (short shots, flash, burns, etc.).
• Setup and operate molding machinery and support equipment.
• Adjust, maintain and troubleshoot automated equipment to maximize utilization.
• Work closely with setup technicians and operators to ensure proper operation of equipment.
• Collaborate with Plant Leaders to stop molding process due to quality concerns.
• Completes necessary paperwork timely and accurately; records use of spare parts to guarantee proper inventory is maintained.
• Follow setup sheets, record changes, and provide suggestions to Process Engineers.
• Train new/current technicians to increase machine knowledge.
• Ensures good housekeeping and organization of production floor.
• Follows all safety guidelines.
