Wabtec's Railroad Friction Products group in Maxton, NC is seeking a production helper to weigh out, assemble, and transport materials for each molding cycle. You will follow all safety rules and use correct materials per the mold charge sheet.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and the ability to read simple instructions, write basic correspondence, and communicate in small groups. Regular on-site attendance is expected.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma is required or equivalent experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to present information one-on-one and in small groups.
• Ability to apply common sense to instructions and standard situations.

Responsabilités

• Follow all safety and employment rules.
• Identify and use correct materials per the mold charge sheet.
• Clean and soap molds after each cycle (heat).
• Visually check mold pressures and temperatures for maintenance issues.
• Move molded shoes from the press to the cleaning table or conveyor.
• Deflash excess material and perform thickness checks.
• Remove bars from slabs and place slabs into saw.
• Visually inspect shoes for defects and notify QA.
• Store finished shoes in the correct boxes.
• Report machine and maintenance problems immediately.
• Follow 5S procedures and record production data.
• Attend on-site regularly; other duties may be assigned.
