Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Mold Set-Up B technician to perform basic mold assembly, maintenance and changeovers to keep tooling production-ready. You will train new employees, inspect tooling, and manage molds shipments and inventory on a rotating schedule.

The role emphasizes adherence to GMP, safety, and cGMP requirements, with duties including overtime as needed and following supervision guidance. Amcor offers comprehensive benefits and a path to develop within a global packaging leader.

Qualifications

• Capable of starting and completing mold changeovers on at least three machine platforms.
• Knowledge of extrusion head teardowns and re-assemblies.
• Able to sandblast extrusion molds and other tooling components.
• Basic math skills to measure tooling components.
• Good mechanical aptitude.
• Able to read and write effectively to understand production materials.
• Capable of sliding heavy molds (>50 lbs) onto carts, tables and machine surfaces.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Identify tooling components by Engineering numbers for conversions.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic mold assembly and maintenance to ensure tooling is production ready at the time of the scheduled setup.
• Maintain efficiency, housekeeping, safety and GMP’s.
• Assist in mold disassembly and assembly.
• Must provide own tools, toolbox.
• Identify potential issues with tooling through visual inspection.
• Disassemble, clean, inspect and assemble all tooling including all mold components.
• Prepare tooling for setup and include all necessary components.
• Identify tooling from prepared setup sheets necessary for setup.
• Perform mold PMs at scheduled intervals.
• Follow daily instructions from the department’s Group Leader.
• Train new department employees in mold assemble and related techniques.
• Ship molds to other plants with all components included and perform inventory and inspection of incoming molds.
• Maintain ownership and adequate inventory of the spare parts inventory cabinet.
• Ship and receive molds as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
