Position Summary:

Performs a combination of tasks including operating, overseeing, and ensuring production of orders on schedule daily. Reviews production orders to ensure each machine runs according to schedule, safety, quality, material, and order specifications, ensuring accurate and timely processing.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

1. Review daily and weekly production schedules.
2. Ensure color feed does not run low; communicate with Quality Control when necessary.
3. Coordinate molding machine production according to schedule and specifications.
4. Manage order filling and color running.
5. Record cycle times and note any changes.
6. Communicate shift changes, concerns, or problems to the next shift.
7. Conduct shift walk-throughs to check for excessive build-up that could damage wiring.
8. Ensure proper recording of all production data.
9. Set up and start production jobs using current procedures and documentation.
10. Make necessary mold changes.
11. Evaluate and improve molding processes for quality, safety, and productivity.
12. Perform repairs on equipment such as mold components, sensors, air valves, fuses, hydraulic cylinders, hoses, and water lines; call maintenance if unable to repair.
13. Complete line clearances during changeovers as per company procedures.
14. Maintain cleanliness of work area.
15. Ensure all shift end paperwork is completed accurately, including reports on problems and troubleshooting.
16. Record machine changes for problem correction.
17. Perform preventative maintenance on molding and related equipment.
18. Monitor production data via Whiteboard.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Knowledge of repairs and maintenance of processing equipment in manufacturing.
• Ability to interpret safety rules, manuals, and instructions.
• 3-5 years of experience with 200-500 ton machines.
• Flexibility to work any shift as needed.
• Experience in process development and control.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Technical background in lining machines or high-speed assembly is a plus.
