Job summary

Biomerics in Winston-Salem, NC seeks a Mold Press Maintenance Technician to maintain injection molding presses and related equipment, ensuring safe, reliable, production-ready operation. You will perform preventive and predictive maintenance, diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control-system issues, and support manufacturing with improvement initiatives.

Cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Quality, and Facilities is essential to minimize downtime and optimize process

Qualifications

Experience maintaining injection molding presses, preferably Sodick or similar equipment.
Experience with hydraulic and/or electric injection molding machines.
Experience with machine controls, PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and industrial automation.
Experience with temperature controllers, hot runners, chillers, dryers, robots, and auxiliary molding equipment.
Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, preferably medical device manufacturing.
Familiarity with ISO 13485, GMP, and Good Documentation Practices.
Experience with CMMS/Maintenance Management systems.
Electrical, mechanical, industrial maintenance, or controls certification.
Experience with root-cause analysis and reliability-centered maintenance practices.

Responsibilities

Develop, document, and optimize injection molding processes for new molds and products.
Establish stable, repeatable processes that meet quality requirements.
Apply Scientific Injection Molding principles to optimize processing parameters.
Conduct molding trials and evaluate process performance for improvements.
Document process parameters and setup requirements for successful production launches.
Collaborate with Tooling and Mold Design to address mold-related issues.
Troubleshoot molding, tooling, and processing issues and implement corrective actions.
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and mold documentation.
Support continuous improvement within the Molding department.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet production objectives.
Provide technical guidance to Production personnel as needed.
