Job summary

Join our precision tooling team in Ankeny, IA as a Mold Maker on 2nd, 3rd, and weekend shifts. Direct hire, full-time, with pay of $25-$30/hour plus a 15% shift differential and quarterly profit sharing.

You’ll build injection molds for medical device components in a climate-controlled tool room. Responsibilities include reading blueprints and CAD files, machining with CNC/EDM, inspecting parts with precision gauges, and collaborating with Engineering, Quality, and Production to meet tight

Qualifications

• 2+ years of mold making, tool & die, tooling, or precision machining experience preferred
• Experience building molds, tooling, or precision components
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD files
• Experience with CNC machining and EDM equipment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Commitment to producing high-quality work with tight tolerances
• Tool & Die education or apprenticeship experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Build new precision steel injection molds from engineering drawings and CAD files
• Machine mold components using CNC mills, EDM sinkers, EDM hole burners, lathes, grinders, and other tool room equipment
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and CAD models
• Inspect components using precision measuring equipment and microscopes
• Troubleshoot tooling issues during the mold build process
• Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule
• Support new tooling projects and continuous improvement initiatives
