Job summary

gpac is seeking an experienced Mold Maker for a hands-on role in our Illinois precision manufacturing client. The successful candidate will take tooling from print through machining, fitting, assembly and final inspection on 1st or 2nd shift.

Requires a formal Mold Maker, Toolmaker, or Tool & Die apprenticeship and 5–10+ years of direct mold/tooling experience in a shop environment, with strong blueprint reading and GD&T skills.

Qualifications

• Formal Mold Maker, Toolmaker, or Tool & Die apprenticeship completed.
• 5–10+ years hands-on mold/tooling experience in a shop environment.
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Build, assemble, repair, modify, and maintain molds and precision tooling.
• Set up and operate conventional and CNC machining equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and tooling specifications.
• Machine and inspect components to tight tolerances.
• Troubleshoot mold/tooling problems and determine required repairs.
