Job summary

Cortina Plastics in Franklin Park, IL is seeking a Moldmaker to build tooling for plastic injection molding. This role focuses on turning CAD data and drawings into precise molds and fixtures, while adhering to time schedules and quality standards.

You will lead mold build projects, coordinate with the tooling & engineering team, perform preventive maintenance, and operate CNC, EDM, milling and grinding equipment. First shift; PPE required.

Qualifications

• Moldmaker experience with plastic injection molding preferred.
• Ability to interpret part and mold drawings and specifications.
• Proficient with measuring instruments (micrometer, caliper, gauge blocks).

Responsibilities

• Build tooling to specifications within scheduled time using mold designs and standards.
• Lead mold build projects to ensure on-time completion.
• Communicate responsibilities and timelines to the team.
• Report project status to Director Tooling & Engineering.
• Assist in mold build projects and complete work as directed.
• Build assembly and machining fixtures.
• Complete preventive maintenance, repairs, and insert changeovers on molds.
