Cretex Medical Component and Device Technologies in Brooklyn Park, MD is seeking a Mold Maker I responsible for assembling and repairing molds, manufacturing components, and supporting tooling with minimal supervision.

Key duties include identifying mold issues, performing basic CNC setup, precision grinding, reading engineering prints, adhering to ISO and quality procedures, and maintaining a clean 5S workplace while supporting the Operational Excellence program.

Qualifications

• Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent experience repairing molds.
• 4+ years of hands-on bench experience in a tooling environment.
• Basic understanding of quality procedures and standards.
• Ability to plumb a tool.
• Basic ability to read and interpret engineering prints and blueprints.
• Skilled in using hand tools.
• Basic ability using surface grinders, mills, and lathes.
• Familiarity with Lean/Operational Excellence practices.

Responsibilities

• Investigate/Identify basic mold issues and perform necessary repairs.
• Identify and participate in recommending improvements for tool development and performance.
• Perform basic setup and operation of CNC equipment.
• Perform grinding of various types of basic pins, cores and cavities.
• Prepare components for heat treatment as required.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area per 5S principles.
