Job summary

Seaway Plastics Engineering is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to keep plastic injection molding operations running smoothly. You will perform preventive maintenance, mold changes, and staging, ensuring molds are ready for production and records are accurately logged in the ERP system.

Ideal candidates are mechanically proficient, able to work with hand tools, and able to lift up to 40 lbs. Experience with GMP and working around lubricants is preferred; forklift or crane experience is

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on molds and tooling, including disassembly/reassembly as needed.
• Maintain mold staging and readiness per production schedule.
• Support mold-tag identification and track current state of molds.
• Perform cavity changes and update dates per schedule.
• Record mold locations and PM activities in ERP system.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Job description

Be the person who keeps production running strong. In this hands‑on role, you’ll ensure our injection molds are maintained, prepared, and ready when production needs them. From preventive maintenance and mold changes to staging equipment and maintaining accurate records, your work will directly support quality, uptime, and manufacturing excellence.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Preventative Maintenance on Plastic Injection Molds (Tooling)
• Mold Staging (Incoming and Outgoing)
• MRO logging and tracking within ERP System
• Workstation Cleanliness

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct preventative maintenance on molds; cleaning involving disassembly and reassembly
• Ensure mold staging and readiness as dictated by the production schedule
• Support mold-tag identification; current state of mold(s)
• Perform cavity changes, date code updates as dictated by the production schedule
• Record and document mold locations as required in ERP system
• Log active preventative maintenance records within ERP system
• Maintain a clean and organized working environment

• Mechanically knowledgeable; working with hand tools
• Experience with use of overhead cranes and lift systems a plus
• Machining experience is not necessary; experience a plus
• Experience with good manufacturing practices
• Possess good attention to detail
• Forklift license and/or experience preferred
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
• Injection molding industry experience preferred.
• Professional, respectful, adaptable, and able to develop workable solutions in a changing environment

• Must be able to stand for long periods and occasionally bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, grasp, climb steps, walk, and stand on concrete surfaces
