Job summary

Latham, The Pool Company in the United States is seeking a Mold Maintenance Technician to keep fiberglass molds production ready and capable of delivering high quality shells. You will repair, alter, and sometimes help build new molds to support product development and fleet expansion.

You will perform cosmetic and structural repairs, routine upkeep, and surface finishing to ensure defect-free release during production. A strong emphasis on safety and tool proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
• Experience with power/pneumatic tools and forklift helpful.
• Autobody or fiberglass experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform cosmetic and structural repairs on fiberglass molds, from small surface repairs to large refurbishments.
• Perform routine mold upkeep and cleaning, waxing, buffing and prepping surfaces.
• Maintain mold floor textures and gelcoat surfaces to preserve finish quality.
• Conduct inspections to identify cracks, delamination, wear, warping, or degradation.
• Maintain a safe work environment with proper PPE and safety protocols.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

A little about the position:

Job Summary

The Mold Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring that molds remain production ready, structurally sound, and capable of producing high quality fiberglass shells. Mold Technicians maintain the molds in production ready status. They repair molds and alter molds to fit production needs, In some facilities, Mold Technicians also participate in building new molds from scratch, supporting product development and fleet expansion ready, structurally sound, and capable of producing high-quality fiberglass shells.

Some of What You Will Do:

• Perform cosmetic and structural repairs on fiberglass molds, progressing from small surface repair to large refurbishments.
• Perform routine mold upkeep.
• Cleaning, waxing, buffing and prepping fiberglass molds to maintain smooth, defect‑free surfaces and ensure proper release during production.
• Maintain mold floor textures and gelcoat surfaces to preserve finish quality and prevent imperfections in produced pool shells.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify cracks, delamination, wear, warping, or structural degradation.
• Maintain a safe work environment through consistent PPE use and adherence to safety protocols.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Experience working with power tools and pneumatic tools preferred.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Autobody or fiberglass experience is preferred.
