Intralox, a division of Laitram, L.L.C., is a global provider of conveyance solutions and services. We are currently seeking an Injection Molding Design Engineer for our Engineering Mold Shop. The successful candidate will design new molds and upgrade or repair existing molds, working closely with product development and production engineers to provide injection mold design solutions for various product lines. The role requires in-depth knowledge of plastics, injection mold design, and 3D CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Develop and design high-quality injection molds for thermoplastic conveyance parts
• Create detailed 3D mold components, drawings, specifications, and documentation
• Collaborate with product development and process engineers to optimize part designs for injection molding
• Work with manufacturing, quality, and production teams to ensure designs meet standards and are manufacturable
• Analyze and troubleshoot design issues, suggest improvements, and ensure efficient mold operation
• Stay current with and incorporate the latest injection molding and mold manufacturing technologies

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in Tool and Die Design or Process Engineering
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, NX, Creo, or similar), Microsoft Office, and general computer applications
• Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills
• Proactive, self-managed professional with strong teamwork skills

Desired Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Plastics or Mechanical Engineering
• Knowledge of mold making equipment such as mills, lathes, EDM, and grinding
• Basic project management skills
