Job summary

HDI, Inc. is seeking a Mold Design Engineer to design molds, tooling, fixtures, and related components using 3D and 2D CAD software. You will support customer projects from concept through final design, manufacturing, sampling, and tool approval.

The role requires mold design experience with injection, compression, or thermoset tooling preferred, along with strong CAD skills and GD&T knowledge. Collaboration with customers, vendors, and internal teams is essential for successful tool

Qualifications

• Must have mold design experience.
• Experience with injection, compression, or thermoset tooling preferred.
• CAD experience required.
• Degree or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering or tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design molds, tooling, fixtures, and related components.
• Review customer part models, prints, and specs.
• Participate in DFM reviews to identify manufacturability issues.
• Create complete mold designs, assemblies, BOMs.
• Support tool builds and resolve design issues with shop.
• Communicate with customers, vendors, sales, and management.
• Maintain design documentation and revision control.
• Lead design reviews and communicate risks.
