Job summary

Modular, a Qualcomm company, is seeking engineers to advance the Mojo LLDB-based debugger, collaborating across the Mojo compiler team and developer community. This role offers hybrid/remote options, with work locations in the US, Canada, and the UK.

Early-career staff split time between Los Altos, CA or Edinburgh on-site, with relocation support; senior engineers enjoy remote flexibility and in-office options. Onboarding is in person.

Qualifications

• Contributions to SDK and dev tools for a major programming language.
• Track record of improving developers productivity with tools.
• Experience with community or developer relations teams is a plus.
• Prior work on LLDB is a plus.
• Exposure to the LLVM ecosystem is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive the development of the Mojo LLDB-based debugger from experimental to mature.
• Work on interactive debugging, IDE integration, debug info formats, and expression evaluator.
• Contribute to other projects like GPU debugging, agentic debugging, and profiling support as the product evolves.
• Help define the roadmap for the Mojo debugger and tooling.
• Collaborate with developer relations and Mojo compiler team, engaging with the Mojo developer community.
