Job summary

Vast in Mojave is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Technician to support on-site EHS operations at the Mojave Test Site. Reporting to the EHS Manager, this full-time, non-exempt role emphasizes safety program implementation, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with engineering teams and remote EHS staff.

You will lead inspections, manage hazardous waste, and support training, lockout/tagout, and incident investigations to ensure a safe work environment across all site activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• 3–5 years of experience overseeing EHS program aspects in an industrial or hazardous environment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding start-up atmosphere
• Must be able to stoop, bend, crawl, and maneuver in tight spaces
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
• Ability to withstand harsh environmental conditions (8° F to 120° F, high winds, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Implement site-specific safety programs and ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with departments to uphold EHS standards and policies.
• Oversee CAL OSHA, RCRA, EPA, SCAQMD, DOT, DTSC, and CUPA compliance.
• Coordinate drills and communicate hazardous operations status with MASP.
• Conduct inspections and audits of safety equipment and work areas.
• Manage hazardous waste handling and storage under RCRA LQG.
