Job summary

the-dermatology-specialists in New York City is seeking a friendly, driven Medical Assistant to join our expanding dermatology team. You will support Mohs and cosmetic procedures, prep rooms, manage instruments, and maintain clear EMR documentation to ensure smooth patient flow.

This position requires weekend flexibility, full-time 40 hours, and strong patient-care and communication skills. Experience in dermatology or Mohs is strongly preferred, with opportunities for education stipends and

Qualifications

• Experience in dermatology, surgical assisting, or Mohs surgery preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and comfort working with specimens.
• Excellent communication and patient-care skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast clinical environment.
• EMR experience (eClinicalWorks) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain surgical rooms and instruments for Mohs cases.
• Assist during Mohs procedures with sterile technique.
• Label, handle, and transport tissue specimens accurately.
• Document patient information, procedure notes, and pathology in EMR.
• Provide pre-op and post-op patient education and wound-care instructions.
• Perform suturing removal, dressing changes, and wound checks.
• Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and restock as needed.
• Support clinic flow and collaborate with the dermatology team.
