Job summary

61st Street Service Corporation seeks a MOHS Histotechnologist to support ColumbiaDoctors, performing embedding, microtomy, staining, and tissue processing to ensure rapid turnaround and quality control in the Mohs lab.

The role reports to the Lead Mohs Histotech and works with the Director of Dermatologic Surgery, requiring NYSED licensure and MOHS histology certification, with an hourly rate range of $45.94–$65.33.

Qualifications

• Independent work capability required.
• Accurate and careful handling in fast-paced Mohs lab.
• Certification in MOHS histology is required.
• NYSED license required for histotechnologist/CLT/Pathologist's Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Freezing and staining frozen tissue sections and cutting with the cryostat
• Labeling, filing and storing slides
• Prepares inventories and handles solutions and reagents used in the Mohs lab
• Disposing stains and cleaning glass containers
• Assists laboratory management in maintaining CLEP requirements to maintain laboratory permit
• Maintaining and recording daily temperatures of the cryostat
• Maintaining laboratory record keeping; helps update SOPM and daily log books
• Participating in studies by maintaining proper records
• Ensuring a safe environment in the lab per OSHA standards
• Covering Mohs histotech in lead histotechs absence
• Performing other related duties necessary for regulatory compliance
