Simmons Foods is seeking a Loader Operator to load and unload cages from trailers at our poultry facilities in Arkansas. You will operate a diesel forklift or Moffett, moving cages with care to minimize damage to birds and equipment, while keeping to the kill schedule.
As a member of the team, you will follow Simmons’ operating systems, participate in safety and continuous improvement programs, wear PPE, and perform routine maintenance on equipment. Travel is not required.
To use diesel forklift and loader to load and unload cages from trailers as poultry is moved from farm to processing plant.
Operates a front-end loader or Moffett forklift in RKP. Directs operations in farms or RKP at poultry plants for loading poultry onto trailers.
Uses industrial diesel forklift or Moffett to load and unload cages with a minimum damage to poultry or equipment.
Monitors the loaded birds to help prevent bruising or poultry dead on arrival.
Maintains production requirements as set forth by the kill schedule.
Maintains all fluid levels in truck and loader. Performs routine maintenance on equipment.
Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure B.E.S.T.practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues, e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforces actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.
Is familiar with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position's role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.

Be able to efficiently work in a plant environment. Regularly required to stand, reach and move about the facility. Moderate to heavy physical effort required. Must be able to work in extreme temperatures.
Will use waterproof footwear, gloves, hearing protection and other protective equipment as needed or required.

Preferred experience in working with large moving equipment, such as a front-end loader. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a company issued forklift license.
Preference for poultry or food processing organization.
