Job summary

First Solar is seeking a shift Engineering & Maintenance Supervisor to lead technicians in the repair and process control of module equipment, driving safety, quality, yield and throughput on the assigned shift.

Ideal candidates have strong leadership, engineering knowledge across electrical and mechanical domains, plus experience with SPC, DMAIC, and continuous improvement. Knowledge of Maximo/CMMS, SAP or Oracle is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2+ years in engineering/maintenance supervision or 3+ years supervisory + 2 years technical work experience.
• Associates or bachelor’s degree in engineering, mechanical or electrical field with no experience.
• Experience in vacuum, thermal, electrical, mechanical and chemical industrial applications preferred.
• Experience leading continuous improvement projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to safety procedures and 5S standards.
• Supervises shift technicians and manages module area uptime and process control.
• Plans and supervises daily work assignments for engineers and maintenance staff.
• Ensures production readiness and proper documentation; supports RTP buy-off.
• Responds to SPC alarms and leads corrective actions for yield issues.
• Coordinates startups, shutdowns, and changeovers in the module area.
