Qualifications

  • At least 6 months of experience doing light industrial or mechanical assembly.
  • At least 6 months of experience using a variety of hand, air, hydraulic, and testing tooling and equipment.
  • Ability to read tape measure in both standard and metric scales.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to document individual work orders.
  • Ability to speak effectively to co-workers, supervisor, and other departments to clarify work orders and blueprints.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic assembly, fitting and wiring to build sub-assemblies and finished products.
  • Follow detailed procedures or general instructions to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Repair and troubleshoot when required.
  • Install components with proper alignment and tolerances using required tools.

Position Summary
The Module Assembler is responsible for assembling mechanical pump units, including complete pump module packages. Duties include attaching pump bodies and related components, performing functional testing, and completing certification of finished equipment. Ensures all assemblies meet quality, safety, and performance standards before release. This role is a full-time, onsite position supporting production operations at Hale Products.
Hale Products is a leading manufacturer of fire pumps, valves, and foam systems, delivering reliable water flow solutions trusted by fire and emergency response professionals worldwide. It operates as a business unit within IDEX Corporation’s Fire & Safety group, alongside other major rescue and fire‑protection brands.
Duties And Responsibilities
  • Perform basic assembly, fitting and wiring as necessary to build a wide range of sub-assemblies and finished product.
  • Build to detailed procedures, cross sections or from general instructions and acceptable mechanical practices.
  • Able to repair and troubleshoot when required.
  • Capable of using sound mechanical judgment to independently install components with limited instruction.
  • Use of a variety of hand, air, hydraulic, and testing tooling and equipment.
  • Able to read and understand torque values and procedures.
  • Report supply needs in a timely manner assuring required supply levels are maintained.
  • Report any safety and maintenance needs to supervisor.
  • Install components required to inspect products. This involves operations such as connecting, aligning, pressing, fitting, setting, and adjusting for proper clearance using any tools required to attain alignment, fits, clearances, and specifications as required.
  • Remove test components from all types of pumps as required.
  • Transport products and other equipment to designated work area.
  • Must display an attention to detail attitude. Detect and correct errors. Make repairs and adjustments as required to pass inspection.
  • Clean and make minor repairs to assembly equipment.
  • Store and place in proper locations all items required to assure the assembly area is free of accumulated clutter, clean, and is in orderly condition.
  • Consistently produce work of proper quality and required quantity.
  • Perform routine maintenance on assembly and test equipment.
  • Perform annual inventory.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills And Required Abilities
  • Ability to read tape measure in both standard and metric scales.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to document individual work orders.
  • Ability to speak effectively to co-workers, supervisor, and other departments to clarify work orders and blueprints.
Education And Experience
  • At least 6 months of experience doing light industrial or mechanical assembly.
  • At least 6 months of experience using a variety of hand, air, hydraulic, and testing tooling and equipment.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus to read BOMs, work orders, and shop orders. May be exposed to various workplace hazards, including but not limited to chemicals, machinery, and noise. Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
