Job summary

PeopleConnect Staffing is assisting a client in the San Jose area to recruit a Production Engineer focused on materials and manufacturing for modular nanogrid systems. Role emphasizes producing repeatable processes, alignment with engineering, and on-time builds.

The engineer will manage production workflows, ensure parts availability, and coordinate with inventory, suppliers, and installation scheduling to deliver high-quality systems on schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in production, manufacturing, or hardware environments.
• Ability to read technical drawings, BOMs, and assembly instructions.
• Strong understanding of BOMs, inventory, purchasing, production schedules.
• Detail-oriented with focus on production quality.
• Experience creating or updating work instructions and production docs.
• Strong spreadsheet skills for inventory tracking and purchasing data.

Responsibilities

• Develop, improve, and maintain production processes for assembly, testing, shipment, and installation readiness.
• Translate engineering designs into repeatable production workflows and create work instructions.
• Collaborate with engineering to resolve assembly, wiring, mechanical, and process issues.
• Support production planning, define labor needs, tooling, and workflow sequencing.
• Review BOMs and configuration details for accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure builds meet engineering design, customer requirements, and installation scope.
• Identify opportunities to reduce errors and improve efficiency.
• Support inspection, test-readiness, and QA processes.
• Create root-cause analyses and corrective actions for issues.
• Coordinate with sourcing and suppliers to manage lead times and availability.
• Prepare for new product revisions and field upgrades, and meet UL/ISO requirements.
