Job summary

Flatirons Habitat for Humanity seeks an Assistant Quality Assurance Manager to support QA Manager in implementing quality-control and regulatory systems for BoulderMOD factory homes. You will conduct in-process and final inspections, maintain documentation, track deficiencies, and coordinate readiness with staff, contractors and inspectors on the production floor.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience in residential construction, modular construction, or related field preferred.
• Working knowledge of residential construction methods, materials, sequencing and workmanship standards.
• Must be able to learn and use an ERP system.
• Experience performing inspections or documenting construction quality preferred.
• Familiarity with building codes, energy-efficiency requirements, modular construction or third-party testing programs preferred.
• Ability to read residential construction drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency with digital documentation, spreadsheets, photographs, shared files and project-tracking systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while following established procedures and escalating issues appropriately.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for occasional travel to construction sites or other project locations.
• Ability to safely access active production and construction areas, including stairs, ladders, uneven surfaces and confined work areas.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document quality inspections throughout factory production, ensuring compliance with plans, specs and codes.
• Inspect structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and finish components at appropriate stages.
• Confirm inspections are completed before work is concealed or progressed.
• Identify defective or nonconforming work and communicate findings to leadership and staff.
• Assist with final factory inspections and ensure homes are ready for transport and field construction.
• Coordinate inspection readiness with factory staff, contractors, inspectors and consultants.
• Maintain accurate inspection checklists, photos, test reports and deficiency logs.
• Help track defects, corrective actions and quality trends for continuous improvement.
