Job summary

ECOMOD LLC, a Colorado-based modular housing company, seeks a Quality Control Manager to ensure building code compliance and state certifications. The role reports directly to leadership and holds stop-work authority to protect quality during manufacturing.

Responsibilities include overseeing in-plant tests for plumbing and electrical systems, managing compliance records, and coordinating with inspectors. A strong background in building codes and QA systems is required.

Qualifications

• Documented technical background and hands-on QA/QC experience.
• Strong working knowledge of IBC, IRC, IECC, NEC, IPC, IMC.
• In-plant testing experience with plumbing DWV/pressure tests and electrical hipot/continuity tests.
• Autonomous line-stop authority in manufacturing or construction environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality oversight with stop-work authority and proper hold tags.
• Custody of state insignias and data plates for compliance.
• Lead mandatory code testing and verification across plumbing, electrical, and envelopes.
• Manage NCRs and CARs and maintain auditable QA/QC archives.
• Maintain Master Training Matrix to ensure technicians hold required competencies.
• Serve as liaison with state inspectors and third-party inspection agencies.

We are seeking a Quality Control Manager to lead plant quality compliance, enforce building codes, and manage state certification systems.

Position Summary

Operating with complete executive organizational independence from production pressures, the QA/QC Manager reports directly to the CEO to guarantee compliance with model building codes and regulations. This individual holds stop-work authority, manages in-plant testing, and serves as sole custodian of state certification insignias.

Key Responsibilities

• Quality Oversight & Stop-Work Authority: Direct executive reporting line with formal authority to issue hold tags, halt assembly operations, and reject non-conforming materials or sub-assemblies.
• State Insignia Custody: Sole plant custodian responsible for securing, logging, tracking, and applying state certification insignias and data plates.
• Mandatory Code Testing & Verification: Execute, witness, log, and sign off on required in-plant testing for plumbing, electrical, and building envelope.
• Compliance Systems & Records: Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and Corrective Action Requests (CAR); maintain auditable 5-year QA/QC archives.
• Workforce Qualifications: Maintain the plant Master Training Matrix to ensure technicians performing regulated work hold required trade competencies.
• Third-Party Liaison: Serve as primary liaison for state inspectors and Third-Party Inspection Agencies.

Mandatory Qualifications

• Resume Submittal Readiness: Documented technical background
• Building Code Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of IBC, IRC, IECC, NEC, IPC, IMC.
• In-Plant Testing Experience: Hands-on experience executing and witnessing plumbing DWV/pressure tests and electrical hipot/continuity tests.
• Autonomous Authority: Proven experience operating with independent line-stop authority in a manufacturing or construction environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active ICC Inspector certifications (Building, Electrical, Mechanical, or Plumbing) or state trade licensing.
• Background in off-site modular construction, steel fabrication, or industrialized building facilities.
• Experience with digital QA software, tablet checklists, and photo-verification systems.
• Experience leading production cross-training on installation quality and self-inspection.
