Job summary

Community Development Corporation of Brownsville seeks a DreamBuild Technician to drive day-to-day module production at the DreamBuild Factory in Texas.

You will work with framing, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC tasks, manage on-site materials, and oversee finish-out of homes. Emphasis on safety, efficiency, and practical construction skills in a community-focused nonprofit.

Qualifications

• General construction experience including painting, framing, and foundation.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Follow safety measures and protect workers on site.
• Skills in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.
• Ability to apply fabrication techniques on production modules.
• Ability to operate power construction equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret construction codes and blueprints.
• Ability to construct or repair wooden framework.
• Ability to determine dimensions for wooden furnishings or structures.
• Experience with interior/exterior design, masonry, woodworking, and wall coverings.

Responsibilities

• Work with staff in framing, electrical, plumbing, A/C and heating, drywall, flooring, foundation, interior/exteriors.
• Report to the MiCasita Manager about material needs and stock on site.
• Maintain a working knowledge of MEP systems.
• Removal of garbage and keep grounds clean and neat; paint and housekeeping tasks as needed.
• Onsite finish-out of home completion.
• Daily tracking of time efficiency for home production.
• Assist in ordering materials for home production.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
